Right at the beginning of August I headed off to France to capture a wedding I knew was going to be something very special. Even though we had only spoken on Skype, on meeting Sophie and Julien, I felt like we had known each other for years! Sophie and Julien live in Canada and with family all over the world, they were planning their wedding in a gorgeous little hamlet in the Cote d’Or region of Burgandy. Home to only 208 people and a place close to Sophie and Julien’s hearts, it is where Sophie’s grandparents built a beautiful home many years ago and where they have spent many a wonderful holiday.
In France the legal binding of a marriage takes place at 'La Mairie' - the town hall. It is here that Julien saw Sophie for the first time, greeting her in a quite spot and then leading his bride indoors to be married. He was such a proud groom and the absolute adoration between Sophie and Julien was a joy to capture!
Every part of Sophie and Juliens day was personal and they worked with some very unique suppliers they knew personally or were well loved... from Sophies custom made dress by her favourite Canadian designer to their beautiful flowers created by their close friend and Parisian florist.
